Introduced the use of geographic information systems into the Charlotte Police Department resulting in applications including crime analysis, community and problem-oriented policing, beat/manpower allocation, crime trend analysis, traffic enforcement and analysis, risk-focused prevention/juvenile recreation, blight eradication/housing programs and other areas.  During my tenure as Police Chief the  department obtained 6 grants including North Carolina Department of Justice and Office of Traffic Safety grants to utilize GIS in both crime analysis and traffic safety.

Johnson Forte Law Enforcement, Los Angeles, CA

Employed under contract to the US Government and the US Air Force.  Held a commission as a Special Deputy US Marshal.  Duties entailed supervising a shift of armed Police Officers responsible for providing Law Enforcement, Life and Property Protection, US Customs Inspections, Vessel Boarding and Traditional Police Functions to an island clientele of 1200 persons of which 300 are military
